Seminar on mediation, as an alternative dispute resolution method

On March 30, 2019, a seminar on mediation was organized at a winery from Ialoveni, as an alternative dispute resolution method. The organizers of the event were the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, the State University of Moldova, the Department of International and European Law, having as paticipants the lecturers of the Faculty of Law. The speakers of the event were: Grossman Andrzej – Representative of CEDR and Lefter Dumitru – Director of the Mediation Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of RM.

The seminar divided into modules, had the following main objectives:

  • Promotion of legal developments and public policies in the field of promoting alternative dispute resolution methods in the academic field in the field of lawyers’ initial training.
  • Promoting the need to introduce courses and modules on alternative dispute resolution methods within the legal university curriculum.
  • Improvement of teaching methods in alternative dispute resolution methods.

Seminar 2

The participants exchanged experience of good didactic practice, involving theoretical knowledge in practice, through interactive solving of cases and role plays games. It was also discussed the possibility of launching the specialized mediation course on interdisciplinary fields, based on modern training techniques, as an academic course in the field of lawyers’ university education. The event was organized with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
